Morning Call - January 04, 2017
A chilly day
Hard frost tonight

A chilly day, some sunny spells, but watch for a hard frost tonight

Good morning,

Frost is not so widespread this morning over England and Wales as it has been. That's because a cold front has been passing south during the night bringing increased wind and more cloud. High pressure is still in control though, centred over Ireland, although a stiff north to northwest wind is making it feel raw in eastern England and eastern Scotland. A few showers in eastern parts of the country too, and as the cold front passes southern Ireland, wales , the Midlands and southern England it will bring cloud and a few spots of rain.

Much brighter weather follows from the north, but also colder air. So don't expect today to particularly warm up for most of us. In fact, temperatures are likely to be ending the day with temperatures very similar to where they are this morning. It will become milder in the west of the UK and through Ireland, and will probably feel pleasent here in the sunshine.

As winds fall light tonight, and skies clear, temperatures will be falling sharply and a widespread, hard frost is likely to be setting in.
