Morning Call - December 08, 2023
Showery in west
Brighter eastern England

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 8th December 2023
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Breezy but less cold than recently

Good morning,

Low pressure is situated to the northwest today bringing frequent heavy bursts of rain to Northern Ireland, Wales, northwest England and southwest Scotland. Risk of thundery showers toward southwestern England & Wales. Brisk winds gusting gale force near to coasts

A few showers advance into central-northern England, but staying dry for the East Midlands, East Anglia and southeast England. Occasional sunshine breaking through, but a lot of cloud overall.

Northern Scotland escapes with fewer showers, but central Scotland is likely to see rain on and off. Snow melt will make the ground very wet, a risk of flooding following Thursday's rain.

Today's top temperatures reaching 7 to 11C, highest in the far south.

Have a great day.
Garry
