More cloud for most, some rain in the south later

Good morning,

A cloudier day for much of England and Wales today, with a west-east split of heat. It is going to be another hot day in East Anglia and southeast England with temperatures touching 31C in places. Cooler for the west of England and Wales, and although there wil be more cloud, it should stay dry for many. During this afternoon an area of rain reaching central southern England and then tracks northwards through the late afternoon and evening bringing a threat of some rain to southern and southeastern England.

Scotland and Ireland have a drier day and a brighter one too. Some sunny spells developing, although always plenty of cloud here. A milder day han recent days too, especially where the sun comes out. Winds should be light for all.

Overnight it becomes damp for England and eastern Wales with thundery bursts of rain, mostly affecting eastern England, but some storm triggered in northern England later. Drier in Scotland and Ireland.
