Showery and cold
Drier in west

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 13th October 2016
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Rain and showers, most in the east but drier to the west, cold for all

Good morning,

A cold and breezy morning across many parts this morning. You'll certainly need a coast as you head outside,l and if you are in the east of the country you will be needing a brolly too. Some showers affecting southern coasts of England. Further west the showers tending to be more scattered with the cloud broken here and there allowing for some brighter spells to break through the cloud.

This afternoon remains cool in a brisk easterly breeze with further showers and outbreaks of rain, mostly affecting eastern areas with the focus being northeast England and eastern Scotland. Further more persistent showers in eastern Ireland, but most of them being light. The brightest of the west in western Scotland.
