Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 21st February 2017 Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson
Largely dry east & north-east
Good morning,
Low pressure is to the north-west, whilst high pressure is to the south-west, resulting in a mild south-westerly flow across the British Isles today.
A weakening frontal zone extends across central & southern Britain giving cloudy skies and patchy rain, which should fade. Often dry and bright toward the east & north-east.
More active fronts spreading in from the Atlantic affect north-western Britain & Ireland, bringing increasingly heavy rain by afternoon and evening. The south-westerly breeze will freshen, later to gale force in the north-west.
Today's temperatures will be 8 to 10C in the north, up to 12 to locally 14C in the south.
Have a great day. Garry
