Plenty of cloud, rain south and east, best sunshine in Scotland

Lots of cloud through England, Wales and Ireland this morning. There will be some rain in the far south of Ireland, Wales and southern areas of the Midlands and England. Further rain affecting eastern coasts of England too. Fair in Scotland, best sunshine in the northwest of Scotland and brighter in Northern Ireland too.

This afternoon sees the rain in the east edging slowly west into the eastern Midlands and through much of East Anglia. Some patchy rain in south Wales and the far south of Ireland. Becoming brighter in southwest Wales. Best sunshine again in Scotland.

Tonight becomes wet in the Midlands, eastern England and the north of Wales as well as central Ireland. Showers in eastern Scotland but dry in the west. Dry in southern England too.
