Isolated showers in west and feeling warm

High pressure continues across the UK at first, with the possibility of low pressure arriving across southern and western areas by next week.

Friday 10/5/24
A mostly dry and fine day with lengthy spells of sunshine for many areas, with the possibility of a weak weather front bringing more cloud and some light rain to the far north of Scotland during the afternoon. Always a little more cloud possible in northeast England and eastern Scotland suppressing temperatures somewhat. A slight chance of a scattered shower during the afternoon across England and Wales but most areas should see sunny spells and light winds. Highs of 16 to 22C north to south.

Saturday 11/5/24
A weather front possibly arrives in the far west of Ireland during the afternoon with most parts of the UK having a largely dry and fine day once more, with sunny spells through the morning and afternoon away from the North Sea coasts. Winds staying light and feeling pleasant. Highs of 17 to 23C across the country.


 

Sunday 12/5/24
Low pressure tries to build in from the west, with some light rain possible across Ireland but generally weakening as it pushes eastwards. More cloud across the far west of Wales, Northwest England and Scotland but elsewhere it should remain dry and sunny into the afternoon. Possibly warmer still in the south with maxes of 18 to 24C.


 

Monday 13/5/24
Confidence is low, but at this stage a slightly more unsettled day looks likely by Monday with some light rain or drizzle across the west of the UK, with the possibility of a few showers across eastern England and Scotland too. Best of the weather looks inland with highs of 18 to 22C.


 

Tuesday 14/5/24
The possibility of a weather front moving across the country, bringing spells of rain and stronger winds to the south in particular. Highs of 16 to 21C.

Wednesday 15/5/24
Showers continuing across the country in places although perhaps a sunnier day for many, with temperatures a little higher than Tuesday. Highs of 17 to 22C.
