After a wet and windy weekend, cooler and less wet this week

A windy weekend with gales and outbreaks of rain. High pressure builds over Scandinavia next week and it will become less wet though a cooler feel moves in on an easterly wind. Frosty nights and starts to be expected. Showery rain for some but many will stay dry.

Tuesday 29/11/22
A ridge of high pressure sits over the country on Tuesday. After a chilly night expect a frosty start for some along with widespread and dense mist and fog which may struggle to lift. Where they do expect a dry and bright day with sunshine though a cooler feeling day with highs around 6 to 9C.
 

Wednesday 30/11/22
Another chilly and frosty start for many with the added risk today of some showers affecting some coasts, though most will be dry and fine with sunshine once any mist and fog lifts. Cloudier skies and rain affecting north and west Scotland. Highs struggling to lift in the north at 3 to 7C here, 6 to 10C elsewhere.

Thursday 1/12/22
Higher pressure over Scandinavia on Thursday. This brings cooler easterly winds across the UK. After another frosty start for many. There is a risk of a few showers along eastern and southern coasts of England. An improving day across northeast Scotland. Drier elsewhere and best of the bright and sunny spells will be further west. Highs at a chilly 5 to 8C.

Friday 2/12/22
Higher pressure still strong over Scandinavia on Friday and continues to pull a brisk easterly wind across the country. Showers again look to affect eastern coasts of both England and Scotland. Drier and brighter further west. Highs at 5 to 8C.

Saturday 3/12/22
The easterly wind picks up more on Saturday making it feel bitterly cold when exposed. Many will be dry though there is a higher risk of showers today pushing from east to west. Highs at 5 to 7C.

Sunday 4/12/22
A colder easterly wind continues as we head through Sunday with showers merging into longer pulses of rain for some in the east as well as across southern counties. Drier with the best of the brighter spells towards the west. Highs at 5 to 8C.
