Thursday may be stormy

Much of this week is looking quite unsettled with rain and showers. Colder across northern Scotland with a risk of wintry showers. Across England and Wales overall temperatures will turn much milder after a colder start. We could see a deep low bring stormy conditions to Britain on Thursday.

Tuesday 21/11/17
Mild and rather misty and murky with patches of rain and drizzle in places, this mainly in the west and the north in the afternoon. Rain affects northern and western parts of Britain in the night with the south cloudy but dry. Expect highs of 12 to 14C.


Wednesday 22/11/17
It remains mild with above normal temperatures but colder for Scotland. Increasingly windy with gales developing up through the Irish Sea. Spells of rain to affect Northern Ireland, north west England and Scotland, this may change to snow over the hills of northern Scotland. Dry across the rest of England and Wales sunny spells developing in the afternoon. A mild and windy night across Britain with rain in the north and the west. Expect highs of 8 to 15C.


Thursday 23/11/17
It could be stormy with severe gales across England and Wales but confidence is rather low at this stage. Cloudy and west with temperatures staying above normal. Wet today with heavy rain possible. Colder across northern Scotland tonight with rain changing to snow. A dry, windy night for most places with gales. Look for highs of 8 to 15C.
 


Friday 24/11/17
Friday looks colder and windy with a risk of wintry showers over the northern hills. Chiefly dry across England and Wales with sunny spells. Gales in the north lessen. Cold overnight with a rural frost. Expect highs of 6 to 9C.

 
 
 


Saturday 25/11/17
Cold and breezy today. Apart from a few wintry showers over the hills of Scotland, most areas will be dry with lots of sunshine. Cloudy overnight with a risk of rain. Expect highs of 3 to 7C.

Sunday 26/11/17
Early rain soon clears the south east as another areas of rain and drizzle sweeps in northern Britain. The south turns dry and sunnier. A windy day across the north. Look for highs of 6 to 10C.
