High pressure building next week

Low pressure continuing to bring unsettled conditions through this coming weekend but high pressure building form early next week

It will be a rather wet and windy weekend with a chance of snow to lower levels at times, however, from early next week, high pressure will start to build bringing drier, brighter and warmer conditions for most.

Monday 18/03/19
A ridge of higher pressure building on Monday. This brings dry and bright weather for all. Cloud increasing in western Ireland later bringing some drizzle here. A threat of a scattering of showers over Wales, southern Scotland and the West Country. High temperatures at 7 to 10C.


Tuesday 19/03/19
Higher pressure bringing a fair day for many on Tuesday across the southern half of the UK and Ireland although with increasing cloud. Cloudier skies in northern areas with cloud and outbreaks of rain, most of this in western and northern Scotland as well as northern parts of Ireland. Highs at 8 to 14C.

 


Wednesday 20/03/19
The ridge of high pressure is located to the south of the UK on Wednesday. This brings milder and drier weather with sunny spells, although lower cloud and drizzle is a risk on western coasts and hills. The chance of more persistent periods of rain in western Scotland; drizzle in northern and western Ireland. Highs at 11 to 16C.
 


Thursday 21/03/19
High pressure builds further across the UK on Thursday. After a misty start for southern areas, it will be a mild day for many with sunny spells. Always the risk of some low cloud over western coasts and hills, especially in western Scotland and western Ireland where there could be persistent drizzle. Highs at 10 to 17C.


Friday 22/03/19
Fronts could bring some rain and strong winds to western parts of Ireland and Scotland on Friday as a low pressure system is located to the north of the UK. Early morning mist and fog is a risk again for southern areas. Dry for most areas with sunny spells, the best of which will be in the south and east. Highs at 9 to 17C.

Saturday 23/03/19
High pressure is centred over the southern UK on Saturday bringing a dry day. Cloudy in the north, brighter in the south. A chance of light rain or drizzle in western Scotland. High temperatures at 8 to 12C.
