Wednesday 19/09/18
Low pressure to the northwest of Ireland moves northeast, driving cold / occluding frontal troughs east and south across Britain and Ireland. A shallow low is likely to move northeast into Southern Ireland overnight. Rain or drizzle, heavy at times, for Ireland and Scotland. Occasional drizzle is likely in western areas of England and Wales, with rain developing more widely across the north of England and Wales overnight. The east and southeast will remain dry with hazy sunshine, though. Becoming very windy in the north and west with gales or severe gales in exposed areas and possibly extending further inland across Northern England / Southern Scotland for a time, with an associated risk of damage or disruption. Highs 12 to 15C in Scotland, 18 to 21C Northern England and the Midlands and up to 23 or 24C towards the east and south.

Thursday 20/09/18
A shallow low, near to Southern Ireland will move northeast across England and into the North Sea, driving an associated frontal trough southeast. A secondary low may move southeast towards Scotland before starting to fill. Rain, some heavy, moves southeast across England and Wales. Bright intervals and blustery showers for Scotland, some of the showers heavy and prolonged in the west. Strong winds, noticeably so this time for England and Wales with a risk of gales, perhaps, in exposed locations. Cool in the north, highs only 11 to 14C, warming up gradually southwards with values up to 22 to 24C in the east and southeast.

Friday 21/09/18
A transient ridge of high pressure, moving east, builds across most parts before a warm front moves northeast across Ireland and Western Britain. Sunny intervals and with many places becoming dry as showers become increasingly confined to northern and western areas. Likelihood of rain spreading across Ireland and into the west of England and Wales overnight. Strong winds at first, especially in the north and west with a risk of gales but wind strengths will moderate gradually. Rain is likely to move into western areas overnight. Cooler and fresher generally, highs 11 to 14C in the north, 17 or 18C in the southeast.

Saturday 22/09/18
A large Atlantic low, moving northeast and becoming centred to the south of Iceland, drives a warm front northeast, with a cold front following into Ireland later. A spell of heavy rain moves northeast, although Southeast England may see little in the way of rain. Some brighter weather follows but western areas will remain cloudy with rain or drizzle at times. Strong winds, especially in the north and west. Little change temperature-wise, highs 11 to 14C in the north, 17 or 18C in the southeast.

Sunday 23/09/18
Low pressure to the south of Iceland continues to move northeast. The associated cold front will move across from the west, with a ridge of high pressure then building from the southwest. A band of rain moves across from the west but then starts to break up with the east and southeast of England likely to stay dry with some sunshine. Sunny intervals follow the rain but with showers in the northwest. Temperatures recover for many parts with highs of 17 to 20C but the far north of Scotland is likely to be colder.

Monday 24/09/18
A ridge of high pressure will cover much of Britain and Ireland. Dry and bright for most parts with some hazy sunshine but showers are likely in the north and west of Scotland and, perhaps, Northern Ireland. Rain over Northern England and Wales moving southeast but dying out gradually, with sunshine and showers following from the northwest. Highs 13 to 17C in the north, 19 to 22C in the south.
