A mixed week ahead with cloud and rain for some, mild in the south, cooler to the north

Conditions are going to be staying mixed through the coming week. High pressure is in evidence but a series of fronts are trapped within the high pressure giving cloud and spells of rain. The south of the country stays mostly mild or warm with the far north likely to be experiencing cooler temperatures.

Sunday 9/9/18
Fronts again bringing cloud and some outbreaks of rain to much of England on Sunday. The rain should fade and the cloud break to allow a few bright spells to develop. A further area of rain reaching Ireland and western Scotland. The best of the drier weather in eastern Scotland and Wales. Temperatures rising to 24C in southeast England, a much cooler 14C in western Ireland and western Scotland.


Monday 10/9/18
High pressure south of the UK on Monday with low pressure to the north. A southwest flow bringing rain through Ireland and much of the north and west of the UK later in the day. Murky over western and southern coasts and hills too. Brighter in the east with cooler weather affecting Scotland. Mild in the south, colder to the north. Highs at 22C in the southeast, 12C in northern Scotland.


Tuesday 11/9/18
High pressure stays to the south with low pressure to the north on Tuesday. A front bringing cloud and rain in Ireland, northwest England and western Scotland,. Some drizzle over western coasts and hills of Wales too. For the rest of England and Wales it should be a fair day with sunny spells, warm as well. Cooler but drier in the far north of Scotland. Tops at 24C in East Anglia, 15C in Ireland and Scotland.


Wednesday 12/9/18
The front remains in Scotland and Ireland on Wednesday. Further spells of rain here, especially on western coasts and hills. Drier to the south and east with sunny spells and very warm. Cool in northern Scotland. Temperatures at 23C in the southeast, 15C in northern Scotland.


Thursday 13/9/18
Fronts clear east on Thursday taking the rain and cloud with the. Brighter weather follows from the west bringing sunny spells and dry conditions. Temperatures at 22C in the south, 16C in much of Scotland.

Friday 14/9/18
Broken cloud in the south of the country on Friday but dry for much of England and Wales. Fronts may bring some cloud and outbreaks of rain into the west of Scotland and western Ireland. Highs at 15 to 22C.
