Cold for all during the week with periods of rain, sleet and snow

Staying cold over the coming days with periods of rain and sleet, some snow over high ground. It remains chilly into the weekend with more rain and sleet, mostly to the north and east. Next week is set to be cool again with areas of rain affecting many places.

Saturday 5/12/20
The area of low pressure remains over the south of the UK through Saturday. This brings another cold day. Plenty of cloud and periods of rain across much of eastern and southern Scotland as well as parts of northeast England. A further areas of rain and showers affects Ireland and the far south and southwest of England. Snow affects the Grampians with snow showers affecting northern Scotland too. A cold day with highs at 6C along eastern coasts, nearer 3 to 5C in the west.


Sunday 6/11/20
Pressure is expected to be staying low through Sunday. This brings cloud and periods of rain to eastern England, most of this fairly showery in nature. An area of more persistent rain in northern England and Scotland, this perhaps heavy in the east. Drier through central and southern England and Wales. Some showers in eastern Ireland but drier in the west. Note confidence in the details is low. Highs at 4 to 7C.


Monday 7/12/20
Low pressure remains dominant through Monday There are likely to be two main areas of rain. One over southern Ireland, southern England and Wales. Another area affecting Orkney and Shetland, this turning wintry in places. Elsewhere it should be dry with some bright or sunny spells. Staying cold for all. Highs at 4 to 7C.

Tuesday 8/12/20
Low to the south of the UK on Tuesday. This may allow for some rain along southern coasts. Showers in eastern Scotland and northeast England with some wintry showers here. Drier for other areas with some sunny spells. Tops at 3 to 7C.

Wednesday 9/12/20
A cold northeast flow remains through Wednesday. Western and southern areas will be bright with some sunny spells. A few showers over eastern coasts of England and Scotland. Highs at 4 to 7C.

Thursday 10/12/20
A northern flow affects eastern coasts bringing some showers here. Drier to the north and west with sunny spells, the best of them in the west. Highs at 3 to 6C.
