Scattered showers, damper end to the week then improving again at the weekend
A moe mixed week ahead than we have been used to recently. There will be scattered showers during the week with the chance of some heavier showers at ties, although these are likely to be scattered. Hints of more widespread showers or some rain towards the end of the week before things improve again at the weekend. Staying warm although not as hot as it has been.

Wednesday 18/7/18 A light westerly flow on Wednesday under relatively higher pressure. This should bring a fair day for most with sunny spells. Isolated showers forming in the afternoon, these mostly over the hills of Wales, western England and western Scotland. Similar temperatures at 17C in western Ireland and western Scotland, 25C in southeast England.
Thursday 19/7/18 A slack pressure flow on Thursday with pressure generally falling. There will be sunny spells and the morning is likely to be dry. Afternoon scattered, heavy showers are expected to develop, some of these have the potential to be torrential and mainly focussed in central and eastern England and Scotland. Fewer showers in Ireland and the western UK. Highs at 18 to 27C.
Friday 20/7/18 A sharp difference of opinion between the models as to how conditions develop towards the end of the week. Favoured solutions are that pressure falls during Friday and this allows for showers to develop. The showers could be heavy and may merge into some longer spells of rain at times, although predicting where these may be is not possible at this time. Temperatures around 18 to 26C.
Saturday 21/7/18 Lower pressure may be close to the southeast on Saturday ensuring that much of central, eastern and southern England continue to see showers. Better to the west as a ridge of high pressure builds into Ireland allowing from some sunny spells here. Highs at 18 to 25C.
Sunday 22/7/18 A ridge of high pressure is expected to build through the UK and Ireland on Sunday. This brings fair weather and sunny spells to most. Some cloud and drizzle could affect the far northwest of Scotland and there is still a chance of a shower in the far southeast of England. Highs at 19 to 25C.
Monday 23/7/18 A ridge of high pressure brings a fine day on Monday to most areas. Dry with sunny spells overall. Some cloud may approach western Ireland and western Scotland as fronts approach giving rain here. Tops at 19 to 26C.
