Often Unsettled
Rather Cold

Unsettled weather will continue over the Easter weekend and into next week, rather cold too and with perhaps sleet and snow developing across the north next week

Easter Sunday 01/4/18
Into Easter Sunday and a rather cold start with a fairly widespread frost and some icy patches, especially rurally. Many areas of the British Isles will have a fair weather day with some bright or sunny spells but a few showers can't be ruled out across more central and eastern areas of England and Scotland, perhaps wintry on higher ground. Overall though Easter Sunday is likely to be the best day of the Easter weekend. Highs 4C to 8C at best.

Easter Monday 02/4/18
Low pressure is currently set to become slow moving just to the south or south-west of the British Isles and this will mean further rain or showers for many areas, perhaps moving northwards through the day. The greatest risk of rain or showers though looks set to be across England, Wales and Ireland where some heavy rain or showers may be possible along with the risk of some sleet and snow developing across N Wales, perhaps the Midlands and N England later in the day. Scotland is likely to be maintain a lot of dry and bright weather through the day. A rather cold day for the opening day of April, especially away from the far south, highs 3C to 8C.

Tuesday 03/04/18
Little change into next Tuesday at the moment. Some uncertainties over the details but it is still likely that low pressure will be dominating the weather across many areas, perhaps located just to the south-west of the British Isles. As a result all areas will maintain a risk of rain or showers, perhaps heavy at times across more southern and western areas, while wintry precipitation may remain a risk across northern high ground. Cold in the north still, highs 2C to 6C, milder in the south, 7C to 12C.

Wednesday 04/04/18
Low pressure is still likely to be slow moving near or over the British Isles by next Wednesday and while there is a lot of uncertainty over the details, further rain or showers are possible in many areas, with still an on-going risk of sleet and snow across northern areas in particular. A potentially extreme temperature variation between northern areas and southern areas may develop with cold weather persisting in the north, but much milder in the south. Windy. Highs 3C to 5C in the north, 7C to 13C in the south.

Thursday 05/04/18
Further wet weather may well be in evidence by next Thursday, especially across England and Wales, perhaps drier and colder across more northern areas. Temperatures may still be highly varied across the UK with colder weather persisting in the north, much milder in the south. Highs 3C to 6C in the north, 8C to 13C in the south.

Friday 06/04/18
Some evidence for a slow improvement in the weather by next Friday perhaps as low pressure begins to pull away to the east of the British Isles and pressure rises from the west or north-west to bring drier and brighter weather in to more northern and wester areas, but still with some showery conditions further south and east. Temperatures still potentially rather cold for early April, highs 5C to 11C, lows in the north, highs in the far south-east.
