A cool weekend lies ahead, with rain on Saturday followed by heavy showers spreading from the west. However, many places will be dry and bright on Sunday. Clear skies will lead to a widespread frost on Monday morning. Fronts moving in from the west bring a spell of wind and rain by late Monday into Tuesday. The rest of the week should return to fairly quiet and cool weather.
