Mixed to unsettled weather through the forecast period. Less cold for the south later on.

Mixed conditions through the forecast period as Atlantic low pressure moves in from midweek. This will spin up some less cold air for southern areas this coming weekend and into next week. Staying cool further north though.

Thursday 10/12/20
It will be a cloudy and wet start for southern and southwestern areas of England but this rain chould clear. Largely dry elsewhere although Ireland, Northern Ireland and western areas of England, Scotland and Wales will see rain push in from the west later. A southerly wind will also strengthen. Milder air begins to move into far western areas with highs at 9 or 10C. Elsewhere, highs reaching 3 to 7C.


Friday 11/12/20
A wet day is expected with outbreaks of rain affecting most if not all places, heavy spells across western areas. Scotland looks to see the best of any drier interludes. Winds will also strengthen across northern Scotland but also across the southwest of England. Milder temperatures in the far west of Wales as well as southwest England ranging between 9 and 11C. Cooler elsewhere with highs at 3 to 8C.


Saturday 12/12/20
Saturday will see outbreaks of rain across places but conditions should gradually improve as a rdige builds in the west. Milder air still in the far southwest but staying cool elsewhere. Highs at 3 to 8C.

Sunday 13/12/20
A brief ridge brings dry conditions initially but the next Atlantic low pressure system and associated front moves in with rain affecting western areas. Staying dry in the east until the end of the day. Milder air spreads across southern and central England later in the day with highs here at a maximum 11 to 13C. Cooler further north with highs here ranging between 4 and 9C.

Monday 14/12/20
Staying milder/less cold in the south still at the start of this new working week. Cooler again towards the north. Rain clearing to the east with drier and brighter weather expected, although expect showers to affect western areas throughout the day and southern English coasts to remain cloudy and wet as rain trails down here. Highs between 3 and 8C in the north and 9 and 12C further south.

Tuesday 15/12/20
A trailing front lingers across southern areas of England with the relatively milder air too sticking around here. Drier further north for a time before more rain spreads in from the west later. Highs of 3 to 8C further north but hanging on to the less cold air further south with highs here between 9 and 12C.
