Mixed weather coming up. Cold initially but turning relatively milder in the southwest later.

Staying cold to start before some milder air moves in to southwestern areas of England and Wales later in the week. Mixed weather with rain, sleet and possible snow affecting mainly northern areas over the coming days but by midweek Atlantic systems move in bringing rain to all.

Wednesday 09/12/20
The low over the northern half of the UK continues to fill allowing for outbreaks of rain to gradually ease off through the day, however, an Atlantic low pressure system and associated front pushes into western areas outbreaks of rain to Ireland, Northern Ireland as well as parts of Wales and western areas of Engand and Scotland by the end of the day. Staying drier further east. Highs at 3 to 6C for most, 8 or 9C in western Ireland, west Wales and the far southwest of England.


Thursday 10/12/20
Spells of rain, some heavy, will affect southern areas of England through the morning before easing off and clearing from the west. Elsewhere, expect some persistent rainfall first thing across western areas but this will ease and eventually clear to the east bringing patchy rain to eastern areas and drier conditions to the west. Milder air begins to move into far western areas with highs at 9 or 10C. Highs elsewhere reaching 3 to 7C.


Friday 11/12/20
Rain will spread from southwest to northeast through the day with some heavier burtsts across some osuthern and western areas. A mixture of sunny spells and showers follow from the west. Staying dry for the far north of Scotland throughout. Milder temperatures across southern Ireland, south and west Wales as well as southwest England ranging between 9 and 12C. Cooler elsewhere with highs at 2 to 6C.

Saturday 12/12/20
Saturday will start wet and cloudy for many although western areas could see sunny spells earlier on. Any patchy rain becoming confined to the eastn regions through the day with the west largely benefiting from drier and brighter weather. Milder condiitons spread across southern England on Saturday and continue over much of Wales and some western areas of the UK with highs ranging here between 9 and 12C. Cooler further north and east with highs here at 3 to 8C.

Sunday 13/12/20
A brief ridge brings dry conditions initially but the next Atlantic low pressure system and associated front moves in with rain affecting western areas. Staying dry in the east until the end of the day. Milder air still about across southern and in particular southwestern areas with highs here at a maximum 12 or 13C. Cooler further north and east with highs here ranging between 4 and 9C.

Monday 14/12/20
Staying milder in the far south still at the start of this new working week. Cooler again towards the north. Rain in the east will clear first thing but more rain pushing into southern and southwestern areas, heavy in places, later on. Driest of conditions to the north and northeast. Highs between 3 and 8C in the north and 9 and 12C further south.
