A mixed and cool week, colder for Easter

Temperatures staying cooler than average over the coming week. It is likely to be drier than average with most rain to the north and west. There is a hint of conditions becoming more unsettled into the early stages of next week with some more persistent wind and rain. Then turning colder in the middle to later stages of the week.

Saturday 24/3/18
Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland on Saturday. Showers affecting western Scotland and western Ireland, these extending into Wales and parts of the Midlands. Morning rain in southeastern England clearing away. Most areas will be dry with sunny spells as cloud breaks. Highs at 8 to 12C.

Sunday 25/3/18
Low pressure stays to the north of Scotland on Sunday. A ridge of high pressure builds into Ireland. There will be a fair amount of cloud but some bright spells too. Showers affecting northern and western Scotland as well as Ireland. isolated showers for England and Wales but mostly dry here. Highs at 8 to 12C.

 

Monday 26/3/18
Pressure stays fairly slack and low overall through Monday. There could be some showers in more southern areas, although staying dry to the north with some sunny spells. Highs at 8 to 12C.

 
 
 

Tuesday 27/3/18
Tuesday is set to become a more unsettled day as low pressure develops close to or over the UK and Ireland. This brings some cloud and rain with it, most in more northern areas and western areas, followed by showers. Breezy too. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Wednesday 28/3/18
Pressure staying low over the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. Showers, some heavy with a few sunny spells in-between. Most showers north and west with a risk of thunder. Highs at 7 to 11C.

Thursday 29/3/18
Uncertainty in how the pattern develops into Wednesday although there is an expectation that the weather gradually becomes more mixed and cooler in the second half of the week. Highs at 8 to 12C.
