Milder and unsettled with a risk of some heavy periods of rain at the weekend

Mixed conditions through the week ahead. Low pressure will be bringing some areas of rain over the weekend and into the early part of next week. Some of the rain could be heavy in places. It is going to be milder than recently. Turning showery by the middle of next week.

Sunday 13/11/20
A wetter day for Sunday as a large area of low pressure is positioned to the west of Ireland. Fronts pass eastwards bringing rain across Ireland, Wales and southwest England by early morning, then spreading to all areas through the morning and into the afternoon. Staying wet in East Anglia and the southeast well into the evening with heavy showers following to many western parts of Wales, England and Scotland. The winds increasing too with a risk of gales in the west. Highs at 7C in the east, 12C in the west.

Monday 14/12/20
Still wet through east and southeast England on Monday morning, perhaps drier here in the afternoon. Wet too through northern England, Northern Ireland, eastern Ireland and parts of Scotland. Brighter in southern parts of Wales and western Ireland, with just a few showers developing here. Highs at 8 to 12C.
 

Tuesday 15/12/20
Staying unsettled with more rain through Ireland, this passing into England and Wales, heavy at times. Drier for Scotland and eastern England with some sunny spells here though rain arrives here by the evening. Chilly in the north too. Highs at 5 to 10C.

Wednesday 16/12/20
Low pressure brings another mixed day with areas of showers and rain. Some areas, including much of central and eastern England, will be drier with some bright spells though. Highs at 4 to 9C.

Thursday 17/12/20
Early outbreaks of rain tend to fade on Thursday to leave a mostly dry and bright day for the UK. Cloud builds over Ireland however as fronts approach from the west bringing rain here later. Highs at 4 to 8C.

Friday 18/12/20
Rain moves east over Ireland and into western parts of the UK on Friday. Staying dry with some cloud for eastern parts of England and Scotland with the odd spell of sunshine here. Highs at 4 to 9C.
