Mild and mixed now, colder later.

Low pressure brings frequent rain and showers with strengthened winds yet milder conditions through the rest of this week. A brief colder stint arrives this weekend into early next week. Temperatures will drop with some seeing frost and wintry showers. Then milder and unsettled again by midweek.

Saturday 25/3/23
Low pressure is east of the UK on Saturday which pulls down a colder northerly air flow into northern areas. A bright and sunny day for many though cloud will soon build as showery rain pushes through, falling wintry over the higher ground. Perhaps more persistent snowfall towards higher ground across southern Scotland into northern England later. Tops at 7 to 12C.
 

Sunday 26/3/23
A cold northerly wind blows down the country on Sunday. A front pushes southwards bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow towards higher ground. Bright behind though with some showers, these wintry towards the north with snow over higher ground. More persistent rainfall will push eastwards across southern England. Tops at 5 to 10C.

Monday 27/3/23
An area of higher pressure builds through Monday. After a widespread frosty start, it will be a dry and fine day for most though feeling chilly. Cloud soon developing across Scotland with a mix of rain, sleet and snow here. Tops at 5 to 9C.

Tuesday 28/3/23
An Atlantic frontal system pushes eastwards building cloud across western areas with rain becoming more widespread here. Meanwhile, a dry and frosty start in the east before cloud builds here. Highs at 6 to 9C.

Wednesday 29/3/23
A breezy day though milder with plenty of cloud and showery rain, though far eastern areas staying largely dry. Highs at 6 to 12C.

Thursday 30/3/23
Heavier rain clearing eastwards on Thursday with showers behind but also brighter weather. Highs at a milder 8 to 15C.
