A mixed week, cool in the north but milder south and east

A mixed week ahead with low pressure in control of conditions. This allows rain and showers to affect most areas with the highest rainfall amounts tending to be in the west. It is likely to be chilly in the north and west but milder in eastern areas. It may be that very mild weather affects eastern parts later in the week.

Wednesday 4/4/18
Low pressure is in control of the weather again on Wednesday. Areas of showers and rain rotating around the low. These showers and rain could be heavy and thundery at times, although some sunny spells in between. Showers could fall as snow over the hills of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Cold in the north and west, milder east and south. Highs at 6C in Ireland and northern Scotland, 10 to 12C in England and Wales.


Thursday 5/4/18
High pressure ot the east on Thursday with low pressure to the west. The low pressure brings wind and rain in Ireland and western Scotland with some drizzle on western coasts and hills too. Eastern and southern areas tending to be drier with osme sunny spells. Highs at 5C in northern Scotland, 9 to 12C in southern England and Wales.


 


Friday 6/4/18
Low pressure over the north and west of the UK and Ireland. Cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Drier in eastern and southern areas with some bright spells, perhaps becoming very milder here. Highs at 11C on western coasts, 16C in eastern England.

 
 
 


Saturday 7/4/18
Pressure remains low on Saturday, this again centred over the west of the country bringing showers and rain here. The risk of some bands of showery rain in more eastern and southern areas too. Highs at 11 to 15C.


Sunday 8/4/18
Sunday may see lower pressure south of the UK with higher pressure to the north. The south could be cloudy with rain, whilst northern areas will be drier with bright or sunny spells. Highs at 15C in the southeast but 7C in northern Scotland.

Monday 9/4/18
Low pressure will bring some rain and showers for many. A few brighter spells with temperatures at 7 to 14C.
