Drier and More Settled
Temperatures Nearer Average

Drier and more settled conditions are expected as higher pressure develops and temperatures nearer to average after the chilly weather of late

Thursday 3/5/18
Into Thursday and a temporary ridge of high pressure may well build across England and Wales through the day to bring about a more settled, drier and perhaps sunnier day than compared with previous few days a feeling a little warmer here too. Further north and west and a more unsettled W or SW'ly air mass is predicted with some rain or showers across Scotland and Ireland. Highs, 9C to 15C, so nearer to average than previous days.

Friday 4/5/18
Some uncertainties by Friday but something of a north and south divide in the weather seems likely at the moment with more northern areas, primarily Scotland, experiencing further unsettled weather with some rain or showers and a fresh W or SW'ly wind. Across most of England and Wales and higher pressure is likely to be influential bringing about another fine day with some bright or sunny spells, despite a few showers in places. Highs 10C to 17C.

Saturday 5/5/18
Into next Saturday and a potential trend towards higher pressure is still expected as a new area of high pressure tries to develop and build into the British Isles, from the south-west. As a result a trend towards drier, settled and sunnier conditions is currently expected perhaps with some warm spells of sunshine and winds lighter than previous days as well. The far north and north-west of Scotland may remain more unsettled with a SW'ly wind and some showery conditions. Highs around, 12C to 17C.

Sunday 6/5/18
High pressure is currently set to be the dominant feature by next Sunday bringing further settled conditions, perhaps particularly so across England, Wales and Ireland with some bright or sunny spells and feeling pleasantly warm in the sunshine and light winds. Potentially more unsettled across Scotland with some rain or showers moving over the top of the high pressure and breezier here too with more of a W or SW'ly wind. Highs around 13C to 18C, pleasantly warm for most.

Monday 7/5/18
Uncertainites over the details by next Monday but the overal concensus is for pressure to be relatively high across the British Isles and this continues to signal further settled weather for most with some bright or sunny spells and light winds, pleasantly warm in sunny spells, especially across England and Wales. Highs 12C to 18C.

Tuesday 8/5/18
By next Tuesday it may become more unsettled across northern and western areas as a W or SW'ly wind develops bringing some rain or showers in off the N Atlantic. Most of England and Wales though should remain mainly dry as higher pressure continues to dominate here with lighter winds too. Cooler, highs 8C to 15C.
