Becoming warmer with sunshine and drier weather for most

A spell of better weather is ahead as higher pressure builds. It may take some time for the weather to become sunnier, although the weekend and early next week is expected to be sunnier and warmer. There is uncertainty in how the forecast develops into the middle of next week.

Friday 4/5/18
Pressure remains generally high in the south on Friday although fronts are passing east. There is the risk of some drizzle on western coasts, especially the west of Scotland with fog in these western areas too. More eastern parts should be brighter with some sunny spells coming through. Mild for all with tops at 14 to 17C in the west, 20C in the east.


Saturday 5/5/18
A ridge of high pressure remains through the UK and Ireland on Saturday. Western and southern coasts and hills may have low cloud and drizzle with hill fog. More eastern areas are likely to be brighter with good spells od sunshine. Highs at 12 to 14C on western coasts and hills but to 23C in southeast England.


 


Sunday 6/5/18
Higher pressure to the east on Sunday. This is likely to be bringing fair weather to many areas with good spells of warm sunshine. Some low cloud and drizzle may affect the far northwest of Scotland. Highs at 19 to 24C.

 
 
 


Holiday Monday 7/5/18
Pressure remains high to the east on Bank Holiday Monday. This should bring a dry day with good spells of sunshine. Feeling warm too. There ay be more cloud in western Ireland with the risk of some showers here. Highs at 21 to 27C.


Tuesday 8/5/18
The ridge of high pressure may be maintained on Tuesday. This should again give sunny spells and mostly dry weather, although there will be some showers in the west. A weak front bringing some cloud and drizzle to northwest Scotland. Uncertainty in the detail of the forecast. Highs at 18 to 25C.

Wednesday 9/5/18
There is uncertainty in the forecast from Wednesday. Current ideas are that it is likely to be staying dry and warm for most. Western areas may see a few showers. Highs at 16 to 25C.
