A cold hit arrives early next week with a cold front pulling down a northerly wind flow. Severe frost, ice and snow are all to be expected with cold daytime highs throughout the week. Weather turns unsettled more later in the week when snow could become messy particularly through Wales and England.

Tuesday 7/3/23
Tuesday sees a more widespread frosty start for many, severe in the north, with icy patches and a colder day ahead for all. A cold front clears the far south first thing and a cold northerly wind flow pushes through. Many places centrally and further west will be dry with sunshine. Frequent snow showers affecting northern Scotland as well as down eastern coastal counties of the UK. Highs at a cold 3 to 6C though feeling even colder exposed to the wind.


Wednesday 8/3/23
A widespread harsh frost with ice first and will continue to be cold with much of the frost and ice stubborn to thaw. Wednesday is expected to be cloudier with the risk of rain and snow across southern regions of England and perhaps south Wales. Drier elsewhere with sunny spells though also snow showers affecting the far north of Scotland. Highs at a cold 2 to 5C though a milder flow may move in across the far south.

Thursday 9/3/23
Another harsh frost to start in the north on Thursday. A largely dry day across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern regions of England with sunny spells. Cloudy skies as an area of low pressure moves in bringing a mix of rain and snow across Wales, central and southern England with accumulations of snow to lower levels expected. Highs at a cold 3 to 5C for most though milder across the far south at 10 or 11C.

Friday 10/3/23
On Friday the area of low pressure moves eastwards into the North Sea with a messy mix of rain mostly towards the south and sleet and snow to many further north, though currently Scotland looking to remain largely dry and reasonably fine though cold. After another widespread and harsh frost highs will be around 3 to 6c for many, milder across the south with highs into double figures.

Saturday 11/3/23
Saturday is another unsettled and wet day with a mix of rain, sleet and snow, though quickly transitioning to rain, across Ireland, Wales and England though soon clearing to showers. Largely dry further north though limited sunshine about. Highs at 3 to 9C.

Sunday 12/3/23
A less cold day on Sunday with dry weather to start before outbreaks of rain move in from the west. Highs at 4 to 10C.
