Unsettled still
Pressure building later

Issued: 0930 Sunday 1st November 2020
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Staying wet and windy through until midweek when high pressure will build and bring drier, more settled conditions.

Staying unsettled for the next few days with brisk winds and outbreaks of rain yet staying mild, particularly in the south. From midweek high pressure looks to build and will bring calmer yet cooler conditions for a time before low pressure moves back in next weekend.

Wednesday 04/11/20
High pressure builds from the west across the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. A weak front passes from north to south across the country bringing cloudy skies and the slight chance of light, patchy rain as it passes through. Drier and brighter conditions before the front and behind for many. A front may sweep across the far north of Scotland later on in the day and into the evening bringing more prolonged outbreaks of rain here with cloudier skies. High temperatures at a cool 7 to 10C.

Thursday 05/11/20
High pressure remains across the country on Thursday, centred over Ireland. Expect a frost in northern and western areas as well as some morning mist and fog patches which could be slow to clear. Where they do, the day should be dry and bright. Breezier in northern Scotland as well as across southern English coasts. Temperatures around 8 to 11C.

Friday 06/11/20
High pressure slides further east and centres over the North Sea. A chilly start to the day with northern and western areas seeing a frosty start. It will be a largely dry day but low pressure close by could affect the southwest of England and southern Ireland as well as western parts of Scotland bringing cloud and some possible patchy rain to these places. Temperatures at 8 to 12C.

Saturday 07/11/20
Saturday could see high pressure move further east allowing low pressure to move up from the south. Another chilly start for northern areas with a frost as well as mist and fog patches for many. A cloudier day to the south of England with patchy rain arriving here later. Cloudy too for the northwestern area of Scotland with patchy light rain affecting this region. Some scattered showers possible down eastern Scottish coasts too. Dry and fine elsewhere. Highs range from 7 to 13C.

Sunday 08/11/20
Sunday looks to see a front push from south to north up the UK and Ireland bringing patchy outbreaks of rain and cloudier skies. Far northwestern areas stay dry but become increasingly cloudy. Dry behind and infront of the band of rain. High temperatures at 8 to 14C.

Monday 09/11/20
Monday currently looks to be rather cloudy for many. Expect outbreaks of rain across Scotland in the morning before this clears northwards with drier conditions behind. Another developing area of low pressure looks to bring rain to England and Wales through the day too. Driest conditions currently across Ireland and Northern Ireland. Highs around 8 to 13C.
