Duty forecaster: Dr. Simon Keeling

Bitterly cold weekend with a risk of snow, then slowly becoming less cool next week

The weather is set to become considerably colder again into this weekend. Easterly winds bring air from western Russia into the UK making it feel bitterly cold. Snow flurries may affect eastern and southern areas, although it will be drier to the west. We do need to be aware of the risk of some more significant snow in southeast England although detail is uncertain at this time. next week sees the cool weather persist, although temperatures will slowly become less cold.
