Wednesday 16/01/19
High pressure is centred over the Azores while low pressure is centred near Shetland bringing a strong northwest to northerly airflow to the UK and Ireland. It will be a windy and rather overcast day with light patchy rain for many areas but more persistent rain for northwestern areas. Gales are possible in the north. Brightening in the east later. A cooler day with high temperatures of 5C in Scotland, 6C in Northern Ireland, 7C in Ireland and Wales, and 9C in England.

Thursday 17/01/19
A ridge of high pressure extends from the south across England and Scotland while an area of low pressure is located just west of Ireland. A mixture of broken cloud and sunny spells across the country through the morning though cloud will build from the west through the afternoon as a front approaches western Ireland from the Atlantic. It will be a mostly dry day in the east but light rain will start edging into western areas through the late afternoon. Highs at 2 or 3C in northern Scotland, 7 or 8C in southern England.

Friday 18/01/19
An area of low pressure is centred over Scotland. It will be a cloudy, wet and windy day everywhere. The heaviest rain will be in the west and the strongest winds in the north and south. Precipitation may fall as snow on the hills of Scotland and the north of England. Highs at 4 to 9C.

Saturday 19/01/19
Low pressure over Denmark extends a trough over England. The day will start overcast with some light, patchy rain around however this will ease to leave a largely dry and bright afternoon. Windy in the north. Highs at 4 to 9C.

Sunday 20/01/19
A weak ridge extends over England from the west while an area of low pressure is just to the east of Scotland. Cloud and light rain will move from the northwest to the southeast throughout the day. Gales in the north. Highs at 4 to 7C.

Monday 21/01/19
Low pressure is located to the east while higher pressure is to the west. This brings a cold northerly flow to the British Isles. Monday may see a mixture of good sunny spells and wintry showers. Highs at -1 to 4C.
