Rain and showers, milder next week after a cool weekend

A mixed week ahead. After a cool start it is likely to become milder for much of England, wales and Ireland. Periods of rain at times in the first part of the week, but fresher with some showers for Scotland. A hint of drier weather affecting southern parts later in the week.

Saturday 8/9/18
A southwesterly flow affecting the UK and Ireland on Saturday. Cloud and rain, some of it heavy over much of Ireland, Wales and northern England as well as southern Scotland. Drier although always with the risk of some drizzle in southeast England. Sunshine and showers in Scotland, these heavy in western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Breezy in northern areas too. Temperatures at a humid 21C in southeast England, 14 to 17C for many others.


Sunday 9/9/18
Low pressure stays to the east of Scotland on Saturday. Cloud and rain in much of Scotland and northern England and feeling cold. Further areas of rain in southern Ireland and perhaps southern England as well as the far south of Wales. In between these areas it will be brighter with some sunny spells. Temperaures at 21C in eastern England, 14 to 16C for many others.


Monday 10/9/18
High pressure south of the Uk on Monday with low pressure to the north. A southwest flow bringing rain through Ireland and much of the north and west of the UK. Murky over western and southern coasts and hills too. Mild in the south, colder to the north. Highs at 22C n the southeast, 12C in northern Scotland.
 


Tuesday 11/9/18
The southwest flow persists through Tuesday. A front allows for cloud and periods of rain across southern Ireland, Wales, central and southern England. Muggy too. Sunshine and showers further north. Highs at 25C in eastern England, 15C in northern Scotland.


Wednesday 12/9/18
A risk of some more persistent rain affecting many areas on Wednesday. A westerly flow dominates. Perhaps fresher with sunshine and showers in Scotland, some heavy in the west. Temperatures at 15 to 22C.

Thursday 13/9/18
High pressure southwest of Ireland on Thursday. A mostly westerly flow bringing sunny spells in eastern areas. Showers affecting the western coasts and hills, some of them heavy. Highs at 15 to 22C.
