A strong area of high pressure moves across the British Isles leading to a settled week ahead for most places. Occasional weak fronts will affect the northern half of the country, with cloud and a little rain, mostly in western Scotland.

Tuesday 21/01/20 Staying generally dry beneath high pressure. Further mist and fog patches may linger in places through the day in central and southern Britain. A weak front across Scotland and Northern Ireland produces cloud and a little rain in the northwest, coupled with a westerly breeze. Frost in the morning. Highs 4 to 9C.
Wednesday 22/01/20 High pressure stays in charge, keeping things dry across much of the British Isles. Some frost and fog. Variable cloud and sun. A westerly breeze brings some rain to northwest Scotland. Highs 4 to 9C.
Thursday 23/01/20 Little overall change, with ongoing settled weather. Rain and drizzle for western Scotland. Fairly cloudy skies for many. Some sun in the south and east. Highs 5 to 10C.
Friday 24/01/20 Pressure stays high in the south, maintaining dry weather. A little rain in western Scotland, with a westerly breeze for the northern half of Britain. Highs 5 to 11C, mildest northeastern areas.
Saturday 25/01/20 Staying dry in the south. Breezy in the north with some rain for north and western Scotland. High 6 to 10C.
Sunday 26/01/20 Breezy in northern Britain, with drizzly rain for western Scotland and Ireland. Mostly dry again elsewhere. Temperatures 7 to 10C.
