Windy in north
Mild end to week

Wednesday
A windy day though winds do ease. Cloudier skies with outbreaks of rain across the Borders, northern England and north Wales first thing before turning more showers with sunny spells developing in between. Blustery showers to western Scotland, wintry over the higher ground, drier further east. Largely cloudy with outbreaks of rain throughout the day across Northern Ireland this then pushing in across southwest Scotland and NW England later. Highs at 5 to 11C though feeling chillier exposed to the wind.

Wednesday Night
Overnight sees outbreaks of rain pushing across Scotland, northern England and north Wales, clearing Northern Ireland through the early hours. Drier further south with variable cloud. Lows at 3 to 7C.

Thursday
A warm front passing east on Thursday brings lots of cloud to most areas. There will be spells of rain and drizzle crossing northern England and Scotland after clearing Northern Ireland first thing. Windy through here too with low cloud shrouding the hills and coasts here. Tending to become brighter in the south though a few scattered showers cannot be ruled out. Feeling milder too. Highs above average at 9 to 11C.

Friday
A cloudy morning for many with patchy rain in the north soon lifts and clears to allow for a drier and brighter afternoon with developing sunny spells. Always dry further south with the best of the sunshine. A mild day again with highs at 10 to 12C.
