Warming up
Staying dry for many

Monday
Low pressure passing to the north of Scotland produces rain, drizzle and low cloud across northwestern Britain and Ireland. Only small amounts of rain for most places, but persistent for many hours over western hills as far south as Wales. Generally dry for central and eastern regions of Britain, with a little sunshine breaking through, but mainly cloudy skies. Moderate southwesterly breezes. Highs 14 to 22C, warmest in southeast England.

Monday night
Outbreaks of rain persist through the night for northwestern parts of the British Isles, staying dry elsewhere. A mostly cloudy night too though clearer skies develop over northeast Scotland and southern England. Overnight lows generally 9 to 12C under cloudy skies, 5 to 8C where skies clear.

Tuesday
Remnants of fronts toward the northwest bring cloud and patchy rain or drizzle for western Scotland, Ireland and locally in northwest England, but tending to fizzle out here. Cloudy skies in northern and western areas, but sunshine breaking through across central and eastern counties where it will feel increasingly warm and quite humid. Light southwesterlies. Highs at 15 to 23C, warmest in the Home Counties.

Wednesday
A gentle southerly airflow will maintain warm and dry conditions for many into midweek with plenty of sunshine across England & Wales. Cloudier for Scotland and Ireland, with a little drizzly rain locally, but amounts small. Light winds and a coastal sea breeze in the south and east. High temperatures range from 16 to 25C.
