Sunday
A mix of rain, sleet and snow to higher ground will have moved south through northern into central England by dawn. Through the day many areas will be dry with lengthy spells of sunshine particularly further east. Always more cloud and the higher risk of showers towards western areas and coastal regions. Showers turning increasingly to sleet and snow as they push in across northern Scotland. Turning colder in the north through the day. Highs at a cooler 3 to 7C.


Sunday Night
During the evening and overnight a mix of rain, sleet and snow, snow perhaps to lower levels, will push across central regions of England towards Lincolnshire and Norfolk through the early hours. Meanwhile, showers or longer spells of rain brush southern English coastal counties, while frequent and heavy snow showers continue to push on to northern Scotland. Mainly dry elsewhere with clear spells. Lows dropping well below zero widely across Scotland, -1 to 3C further south.


Monday
Monday is cold for all with a widespread severe frost across the north and some frost further south. A few places across central and southern England likely to wake to some lying snow to lower levels with a few showers continuing through the morning. Showers, some wintry, still affecting regions of Wales and SW England as well as across East Anglia through the day. Frequent and heavy snow showers continue on to northern Scotland with wintry showers down many coastal counties across Scotland. Otherwise dry and bright with sunshine. An overnight widespread harsh frost to be expected with ice forming. Highs at 1 to 4C.


Tuesday
Tuesday is a very cold and extensively frosty and icy throughout. A few mist and fog patches are to be expected across southern and SW England into Wales first thing before these clear. Largely dry though expect snow showers on to northern and western coasts and hills with snow showers becoming frequent and heavy in places across northern Scotland. Re-freezing overnight is to be expected as temperatures stay low. Highs struggling to lift for many at around -2 to 2C.
