Thursday
An area of showery rain affecting western Scotland, northwest England and the north of Wales on Thursday morning. Thundery showers in East Anglia and southeast England. The area of showery rain will slowly clear into the North Sea, although by then the rain may have become heavier in central and eastern Scotland, with further thundery showers in southeast England. Brighter, fresher weather already across Ireland and the west of the UK will be edging eastwards in the morning, this then crossing all areas later. Highs at 28C in southeast England, 17C in Ireland as fresher air arrives.

Thursday Night
A fair start to Thursday evening as rain clears northern and eastern Scotland. Further cloud and rain will be spreading quickly to the west, bringing rain across Ireland in the late evening, winds to gale force to in the west. This rain then spreads eastwards through the night, crossing the whole of the UK by morning. At the same time, drier weather follows to Ireland. Temperatures no lower than a muggy 16C in southern England, 9C in Ireland.

Friday
Low pressure bringing a breezy day across much of England and Wales. There will be cloud and some rain in eastern areas in the morning, becoming drier, although staying fairly cloudy in the south. Scattered showers in the west, mostly in west Wales and northwest England. Cloud, wind and rain in northern and western Scotland as well as the north of Ireland with severe gales here. Brighter in eastern Scotland, eastern Ireland and northeast England with just an isolated shower. Highs near 21C in the far southeast of England, more widely 14 to 17C, and closer to 13C in western Ireland and western Scotland.

Saturday
Low pressure to the north of Scotland on Saturday. Heavy rain affects centra and northern Scotland as well as severe gales. Fresher and brighter in England, Wales and Ireland, although there will be a scattering of showers, mostly for Wales and western areas. Further scattered showers in Ireland, gales in the north of Ireland with outbreaks of rain at times. The best sunshine in southern England. Highs at a cold 9C in central Scotland, 20C in southeast England.
