Rain in the east at first

Thursday
A band of showery rain affecting the eastern Midlands, East Anglia and southeast England early this morning. The rain slowly clearing from the far east. Brighter weather will be following to the west bringing sunny spells and fresher weather. Some heavy showers in Scotland, a risk of a thunderstorm over the hills. More isolated showers in Wales, western England and Ireland. Highs at 25C in southeast England, 20C in southern Ireland, 17 to 19C elsewhere.


Thursday Night
Any remaining showery rain clears from southeast England this evening. Dry weather for many areas with clear spells developing. Increasing cloud drifting into the west of the UK and Ireland bringing some drizzle over western coasts and hills as well as around the coasts of western and southern Ireland. Scattered showers affecting western Scotland too. Lows at 10 to 14C for most, 8C in central Scotland.


Friday
Low pressure moves into Ireland on Friday. This brings cloud and rain with it as fronts move north and east. Wet in Ireland, Wales and much of the west and south of England. Showers in Scotland, some of them heavy, but some bright spells too. Perhaps drier in the far east. Highs at 18 to 23C.
 


Saturday
Low pressure brings heavy spells of rain overnight into much of England, Wales, Ireland and southern Scotland. The low is then over Scotland on Saturday. Wet in Scotland with heavy periods of rain, this affecting northern England too. Brighter and breezier to the south with showers, these heavy at times. Temperatures at 24C in southern England, 18C in northern Scotland.
