Christmas Eve
Morning cloud will clear from Southeast England quickly on Christmas Eve morning. All parts of the country are going to be feeling colder in a northerly wind. Wintry showers around northern and eastern coast with the threat of a dusting of snow in places. There could also be one or two wintry showers of the western coast of Wales and the north coast of Cornwall as well as northern and western island. Elsewhere the day will be dry and bright with lots of sunshine but it will be feeling cold. Highs at 2 to 5C.


Christmas Eve Night
Skies will be largely clear for many parts of England and Wales as well as central and eastern Scotland overnight. Temperatures will be falling quickly with a widespread frost and icy roads. A few wintry showers may affect the coasts of East Anglia and north east England. Lows near 0 to -4C.
 


Christmas Day
A fine start to Christmas morning as a ridge of high-pressure built across Ireland and the UK. They will be good spells of sunshine and a widespread frost to start the day. Plenty of sunshine particularly through England and Wales. Cloud will be increasing across Scotland and Ireland with some outbreaks of drizzle into western Scotland. A scattering of wintry showers may affect the northern coast of Norfolk and one or two could trigger over the north coast of Cornwall. Otherwise the day is dry. Highs at a cold 2 to 4C for most, but a milder 10C in the Hebrides later.


Boxing Day
Low-pressure to the north of Scotland for Boxing Day with high-pressure to the south. A gale force wind affects most areas. Rain in northern and western Scotland will be heavy, this reaching northwest England in the afternoon. Patchy outbreaks of rain elsewhere particularly over western coast and hills. Drier in the east. Tops near 5 to 9C.
