Monday
Ex-hurricane Ophelia is expected to track into Ireland to be centred near north west Scotland tonight. Strong winds will develop across much of Britain with the strongest gusts expected across western areas where gusts up to 80 mph may affect exposed western coasts and hills in the afternoon. Heavy rain is expected across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Dry for much of England and Wales with lots of unseasonably warm sunshine and feeling humid. Mostly sunny across the rest of England and feeling warm. Expect maximum temperatures of 13 to 15 Celsius across Scotland and 20 to 24 Celsius across England and Wales.

Monday Night
Through the evening gusts to 70 mph are expected across the hills of north eastern England and southern Scotland with gusts of 60 mph overnight. Further rain to come across Northern Ireland this evening and this will be heavy across Scotland. Heavy rain persists across north west Scotland overnight. A dry evening and night across England and Wales. Expect minimum temperatures of 10 to 13 Celsius.

Tuesday
A windy day to come across Britain with gales across eastern Scotland and north east England gradually moderating through the day. Outbreaks of rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland turn light and patchy in the afternoon. Much of England and Wales will have a dry day with some sunshine but cloud in the far south may bring some rain into the south west of England in the afternoon. This rain may spread north into Wales and The Midlands in the evening then into northern England overnight. Expect highs of 13 to 17 Celsius north to south.

Wednesday
A windier day to come across Britain. Overall it's a cloudy day with spells of rain and showers. The rain may be heaviest across the south east of England. Many areas are likely to have rain in the evening which turns heavy across northern England and southern Scotland. Generally wet across Britain in the night with spells of moderate to heavy rain. Strong winds in the south west of England in the evening push into much of England overnight. Expect highs of 11 to 18 Celsius.
