Showery west
Drier, brighter east

Thursday
A fair morning across much of the eastern half of the UK. Some decent spells of sunshine and a brisk southwest wind.Further west there will be some showers, these heavy at times and clumping together into some longer spells of rain. The showers passing east through Ireland as well, again being heavy with a risk of thunder. Central Scotland should be drier overall and bright, although some showery rain in the north. Becoming mainly fair in central and eastern Ireland too. Highs at 5 to 9C.


Thursday Night
An area of showers will be passing east through England and Wales overnight, one or two of the showers heavy. An isolated showers around the coasts of Scotland and Ireland too, but generally drier and clearer to the north and west with a touch of frost here as temperatures dip to 0C. Nearer 2 to 4C for most.
 


Friday
Friday brings a cooler northwest flow through all parts of the UK and Ireland There could be a few wintry showers in northern and eastern Scotland at first, with an isolated shower along eastern coasts. A risk of some more persistent rain at first in southeast England. This clears with brighter weather then spreading from the west as a ridge of higher pressure builds. Most places then becoming dry and bright with sunny spells, just an isolated shower on hills in the west. Highs at 4 to 8C.


Saturday
A murky day on Saturday as front edges in from the west bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Most of the rain will be falling in the western parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as northwest England. More eastern and southern areas of England and Wales may have some brightness at first, but this soon disappearing as cloud increases form the west. Feeling cold in the east at first, but milder air arrives from the west. Highs at 7C in the east, 11C in the west.
