Showers fading
Fine Guy Fawkes Night

Sunday
With high pressure to the south west and low pressure to the north east, it's going to be a breezy day and with the winds from the north west, a chilly one. This morning is when we are likely to see most of the showers, though some areas will escape them with decent sunny spells. These most likely to affect Northern Ireland, northern Scotland, Wales, south west England and the Midlands. Most of these tend to die out in the afternoon leaving just a few near North Sea coasts and a fair amount of sunshine elsewhere. Expect maximum temperatures of 7 to 11 Celsius.

Sunday Night
A dry evening across Britain with clear spells and lessening winds. A fine evening for Guy Fawkes festivities but temperatures dropping through the evening. With lighter winds and clear spells it will be a cold night with a widespread frost likely. A number of dense fog patches may also develop in the south. The winds do freshen across Northern Ireland and north west Scotland as rain reaches here before morning. Expect minimum temperatures of 0 to 5 Celsius but below freezing in the countryside and the northern hills.

Monday
A windier day across northern and western parts of Britain. Gusts to 60 mph to affect the Western Isles. Here it's expected to stay cloudy and damp with sporadic outbreaks of rain and drizzle. The rest of Britain will have a dry day with sunny spells after clearance of any dense fog patches from the Midlands, the Vale of York and parts of southern England. Tonight will be very windy with moderate to heavy rain across Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and western parts of England. Temperatures are expected to be above normal in the south with highs of 9 to 12 Celsius north to south.

Tuesday
Windy and turning colder from the west today as a cold front clears into the North Sea. A wet start to the day with spells of heavy rain. Later this morning this clears from western parts of Britain. The rain then clears from all but East Anglia and the south east in the afternoon. A number of showers to follow in across western coasts with sunnier skies developing away from the south east. Dry and clear with a risk of frost and fog developing tonight. Expect highs of 7 to 10 Celsius.
