Severe gales developing through Ireland, the Irish Sea, west Wales and southwest England during tonight. An area of rain passes east through Ireland and into the west of the UK too. Eastern areas will be drier with some clearer skies at first, but clouding over later in the night as the wind increases. Lows near 3 to 5C.
 

Wednesday
Low pressure brings wind and rain to Ireland, western England, western Scotland and Wales. Drier in more eastern parts of the country with the winds increasing. The area of rain slips eastwards through the afternoon, although it may be that parts of East Anglia and the southeast stay dry although cloudy. Drier weather arrives in the far west, although still with plenty of cloud. Showers in Ireland, these heavy in the north. Highs at 7 to 10C.

Wednesday night
Rain affecting Scotland through tonight. This rain could be heavy in northern and western areas. Some showers over western coasts of Wales and England. Dry for other areas with clearer skies. Brezy no northern England and Scotland. Lows near 3 to 5C.

 
 
 

Thursday
A ridge of high pressure building through the UK on Thursday. This brings a fair day with sunny spells, the best of this sunshine in eastern areas. Some scattered showers will be affecting western and southern coasts and hills, and it is here that there will be some broken cloud. More persistent rain arriving in western parts of Ireland later in the day. Temperatures at 8 to 10C and so continuing mild for many.

Friday
Low pressure west of Ireland on Friday. Fronts will be edging east bringing rain across northern and western areas, heaviest over the hills of Wales, southwest England and southwest Scotland. The rain continues in the afternoon for most, again most of it heavy in the west. East Anglia and southeast England are likely to be drier, although there could be some drizzle here later. Becoming drier and brighter in Ireland, sunny spells and scattered showers here. Tops at 9 to 12C.
