Tuesday
A dry and mostly fair start to the day in eastern areas of the country. An area of rain already affecting Wales, southwest England and eastern Ireland will become more persistent this morning, spreading into northern England, the Midlands and southwest England. East Anglia and the far southeast probably staying dry until this evening. Drier for northern Scotland but some showers in the west. A mix of sunshine and showers across Ireland, some of them heavy at times. Highs at 17C in the south of England, 11C in northwest Scotland and 13 to 16C for most other areas.

Tuesday Night
Becoming wet this evening and overnight with rain across much of England and Wales. This rain may be heavy at times. The heaviest of the rain is likely in northern England and Scotland where it is also going to becoming increasingly windy with severe gales. Drier weather reaching Ireland, Wales and southern England. Lows near 6C in western areas, 11C in the east.
 

Wednesday
Low pressure quickly clearing eastern coasts on Wednesday. This brings rain in the east on Wednesday morning, the rain being heavy at times. Severe gales could affect northern and eastern areas at first too. Western parts of the country will be brighter and windy to start, a few showers on coasts. An improvement taking place in the afternoon with more sunshine in the west and generally dry conditions here. In the east the rain will clear to leave sunny spells and mostly dry weather with the winds also easing. It stays cool at 10 to 16C.

Thursday
Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland on Thursday. A front brings rain and cloud across southern England and Wales. Heavy showers will be merging into longer spells of rain in Scotland and northern parts of Ireland as well as northern England. Some bright or sunny spells between these areas. Highs at 17C in central areas, 12 to 14C elsewhere.
