Rain north & west
Dry & fine for many

Sunday
An area of low pressure will track east across Scotland on Sunday. This brings the risk of some heavier periods of rain here, together with stronger winds. Further rain may affect northern and western Ireland though this eases through the afternoon. Rain becomes confined to the far north of Scotland later. High pressure will bring dry and fine conditions in the south including for eastern Ireland, most of England and Wales and for eastern parts of Scotland. Warm temperatures for most: highs at 25C in southern England, 21C in southern Ireland, 19C in eastern Scotland, 14C in northwest Scotland.

Sunday Night
Rain persists for northwestern parts of Scotland and the Northern Isles overnight but tends to become lighter towards the morning. Patchy, light rain may also develop over western parts of Ireland through the night. Southwestern parts of the UK in particular may see the formation of mist and fog patches overnight. Elsewhere it's a dry night with clear skies over much of England and Wales and over eastern Scotland. Overnight lows at 11 to 15C for most.

Monday
Staying dry with a good deal of sunshine for many on Monday as high pressure over the continent extends towards the British Isles. Temperatures becoming very warm in the south too. Northern and western parts of Scotland and Ireland will see more in the way of cloud and some outbreaks of drizzle and rain as low pressure lies to the west. The best of the sun over southeast England. High temperatures range from 17C in Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland to 27 or 28C in the southeast of England.

Tuesday
Low pressure to the west and high pressure to the east brings a very warm southerly airflow to the UK and Ireland. An area of low pressure to the north of Scotland may bring outbreaks of rain here while Ireland and Northern Ireland are at risk of scattered showers, some of which may be thundery. Much of England and Wales as well as southern Scotland staying dry and fine with the slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm developing here later. Very warm too with highs at 20 to 30C.
