Rain in the west
Fair east

Tuesday
Rain through western Scotland and eastern Ireland this morning with a brisk southerly wind affecting most western parts of the country. Other parts of eastern Wales, England and much of eastern Scotland should be dry, although with increasing cloud. A few bright spells in the east. Brighter in Ireland too with some showers in the west. The afternoon sees the rain affecting western Scotland, western Wales and southwest England as wel as edging into northwest England. Eastern and central England should be dry albeit with lots of cloud. Brighter in Ireland with showers, most in central and northern areas. Highs at 17C in Scotland and Ireland, 24C in East Anglia.


Tuesday Night
The area of rain edges slowly east through this evening and overnight to be through eastern England, the eastern Midlands, eastern Scotland and central southern England by morning. Some showers over western coasts and hills as well as in Ireland. Lows at 8 to 12C.
 


Wednesday
Low pressure west of Scotland on Wednesday. Bands of showers passing from west to east, some of them heavy and prolonged. The showers wil be slow moving, and so as well as wetter areas there will be some locations that stay drier. Ireland will have sunny spells and scattered showers, with northern Scotland also being drier and brighter with sunny spells here. Highs at 24C in eastern England, 16C in Ireland and western Scotland.


Thursday
Low pressure drifts towards Scotland on Thursday. Another mixed day is expected with showers and longer spells of rain for most. The highest risk of the more persistent rain is through Ireland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Local flooding is possible from heavier downpours and there will be some thunderstorms too. Fewest showers are likely to be in eastern parts of England. Highs at 22C in eastern England, 16 to 18C in the west.
