Wednesday
Cloud and wind across northern England, the Midlands and southern England to start this morning, together with some heavy bursts of rain. The rain moves east as the morning progresses reaching East Anglia and southeast England, not clearing here until late afternoon. Much brighter weather is following to the west bringing sunny spells and mostly dry weather in Scotland, Ireland and western parts of England and Wales. Showers in western Ireland will blow east as the morning moves on, affecting western parts of the UK this afternoon. Highs at 9 to 13C in a moderate west wind.

Wednesday Night
Showers fade this evening to leave a dry night with long clear spells. Cloud will increase in Ireland later in the night, a few spots of drizzle on western coasts. The clearer skies will allow temperatures to fall quickly and a widespread ground frost to develop. A slight air frost in places too. Lows near 1 to 4C.
 

Thursday
A ridge of high pressure extends through the southern UK on Thursday. This brings mostly dry weather with bright spells and some sunshine in the east. Thicker cloud on western coasts and hills later giving some drizzle and mist here. A warm front gives cloud in Scotland and Ireland with some patchy rain and drizzle with fog over western coasts and hills. Highs at 11 to 15C.
 

Friday
Pressure remains generally high in the south on Friday although fronts are passing east. There is the risk of some drizzle on western coasts, especially the west of Scotland with fog in these western areas too. More eastern parts should be brighter with some sunny spells coming through. Mild for all with tops at 14 to 17C in the west, 20C in the east.
