Outbreaks of rain north & northwest
Drier & brighter south & east

Sunday
A ridge of high pressure builds across the British Isles through Sunday. A more northwest to northerly flow brings a risk of drizzly rain in northern Scotland and of light, scattered showers for eastern parts of Scotland and England throughout the day. Elsewhere a weak trough continues to bring outbreaks of rain to southwestern parts of the UK and Ireland. Fair for most other areas with broken cloud and sunny spells. Best of the brightness to the northeast. Highs widely at 16 to 19C. Just 12 or 13C in northern Scotland however while southern parts of England could see 20 or 21C.

Sunday Night
A few showers persist over southern parts of England through Sunday night but these mostly easing by Monday morning. Cloud building over western areas through the night as a low pressure system approaches Ireland. This may bring a few spots of light rain to western parts of Ireland by morning. Clearer skies to the east. Overnight lows at 5 to 7C for much of Wales, northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland; 9 to 14C for Ireland and central and southern England.

Monday
A weak ridge of high pressure holds on over the eastern half of the UK on Monday. This brings a mostly dry day though cloud will continue to build from the west as an area of low pressure approaches. An overcast day in Ireland and the west of the UK with outbreaks of rain for northwestern Ireland, Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Dry and bright for the eastern UK though it will become increasingly cloudy. Some showers may develop over southern England through the afternoon. Highs at 21 or 22C in southern England, 15C in northern Scotland, more widely 17 to 20C.

Tuesday
Low pressure to the northwest brings a mostly cloudy day for Ireland and the UK. Early morning rain over the northern half of Ireland, Scotland, the far north of Wales and northern England will ease leaving showers for many. These may extend further south across central and southern parts of England and some of these will be heavy. A brighter day for southern Ireland and southwestern parts of the UK with central and southern parts of England staying dry. High temperatures widely at 16 to 21C, 22 to 23C in southeast England and southern Ireland.
