Outbreaks of rain
Mild in the south

Monday
Outbreaks of rain clear to the east from most areas through the day as low pressure passes eastward across the country. Drier, brighter conditions follow from the west. Strong winds affect the far south and Irish Sea coasts. A wetter day across Scotland with some hill snow falling here. Drying up towards the evening for most though another area of rain arrives from the southwest spreading across southern Ireland and into the far southwest of the UK. Highs at 5 to 7C in the north; 10 to 14C across Wales, southeast Ireland and much of England.

Monday night
Rain spreads east across southern parts of Wales and England overnight, lingering until morning over far southern coastal counties. Further north, patchy rain affects the far north of Scotland and the Northern Isles while scattered showers develop over western coasts. A mostly dry night elsewhere with the clearest skies over Northern Ireland, southern Scotland, northern England and northern Ireland. This is where we could see a patchy rural frost form. Overnight lows at 0 to 4C for many, 5 to 8C across southern parts of England and Wales.

Tuesday
Outbreaks of rain continue to affect southern parts of England before another area of low pressure tracks across Ireland, England and Wales later. This brings the threat of some further heavy rain to the south though most of the rain elsewhere will be light and patchy. Brighter and colder for Northern Ireland and Scotland as well as the far north of England with some showers affecting western coasts and hills. Highs at 10 to 13C in the far south of England and Wales; more widely 4 to 7C for most.

Wednesday
An area of low pressure crosses Ireland, England and Wales on Wednesday bringing unsettled conditions for many. It will bring cloud and rain across southern areas with a risk of some sleet and snow over the hills of Wales and northern England. Rain may be particularly heavy again for the far south. Brighter but cold with wintry showers across Scotland while conditions improve across Ireland and Northern Ireland. Highs at 2 to 7C for most; 10 to 13C across southern parts of England and Wales.
