Damp and cloudy
Fair north & south

Tuesday
Cloud and rain affecting Ireland this morning, most persistent in the west although the far south of Ireland stays dry. The rain and drizzle arriving in western Scotland and the west and north of Wales as well as northwest England. A drier start in eastern Scotland, eastern, southern and central England although the cloud will be increasing. Rain then spreads through much of northern England, Wales, the Midlands and parts of East Anglia this afternoon. Probably staying drier and brighter in the far south of England, although low cloud over western coast and hills. Some showers in central Scotland, but overall drier here with the best sunshine in northern Scotland. Highs at 12 to 15C in the rain, a milder 19C in southern England.

Tuesday Night
A damp night across much of Ireland, England and Wales. There will be some fog over the hills, particularly in the west. Drier in Scotland with some clearer spells here. Little change is expected as the night progresses. A cool night in northern areas with lows at 5C in central Scotland, 13C in damper, southern parts of England, Wales and southern Ireland.

Wednesday
Low pressure brings the threat of a more mixed day on Wednesday. There is uncertainty as to where most of the rain will be. Current thoughts are that Ireland and much of England and Wales will be damp, most rain affecting western and northern areas. Scotland may have sunny spells and a risk of some showers, a few of them could be heavy. Temperature rising to 22C in the far south of England, much coler in the rain at 14 to 18C.

Thursday
An area of low pressure is going to be moving across Ireland and Great Britain during Thursday. This brings cloud and periods of rain as well as strong winds. The heaviest of the rain is likely to be through Northern Ireland, Scotland and northern England as well as western parts of Wales. Perhaps drier in the far south of England with sunny spells, although some rain in the southwest. Tending to turn brighter and more showers, but still windy in Ireland. Highs at a chilly 9C in central Scotland, but warmer in souther areas, perhaps to 24C in southeast England in any sunshine.
