Tuesday
A low pressure system circulates over Scotland on Tuesday bringing rain to more coastal areas as well as across southern Scotland/the Borders and into northern parts of England. Rain will fall as sleet and snow over the higher ground mainly. Drier weather over central areas with occasional sunny intervals but largely cloudy. Across southern England there could be some mist and fog patches to contend with. Largely dry in the south although Wales and southwest England will see some patchy rain. The far southeast of England will also see cloudier skies and patchy rain. High temperatures at 4 to 9C.

Tuesday night
Overnight, rain across central areas of England and Wales will continue for a time before clearing here. Rain continuing to affect western areas of Scotland and eastern coasts but largely dry over central areas. The southwest of England could also continue seeing outbreaks of rain throughout the night. Elsewhere, it should be dry with clear spells developing in the far west, particularly later on. Frost patches across eastern Ireland but lows largely above freezing elsewhere and generally between 1 and 5C.

Wednesday
The low over the northern half of the UK continues to fill allowing for outbreaks of rain to gradually ease off through the day, however, an Atlantic low pressure system and associated front pushes into western areas bringing outbreaks of rain to Ireland, Northern Ireland as well as parts of Wales and western areas of England and Scotland by the end of the day. Staying drier further east. Highs at 3 to 6C for most, 8 or 9C in western Ireland, west Wales and the far southwest of England.

Thursday
It will be a cloudy and wet start for south Wales and southwestern areas of England before quickly clearing. Largely dry elsewhere although Ireland, Northern Ireland and western areas of England, Scotland and Wales will see rain push in from the west later. A southerly wind will also strengthen and less cold air begins to move into far western areas with highs at 9 or 10C. Elsewhere, highs reaching 3 to 7C.
