A warm front pushes eastwards across northern England and Scotland in the morning with a spell of rain for many places. This will fade but leaves generally drizzly conditions in western areas through the day. Heavier rain sets in again across western Scotland later. Cloudy with patchy rain for Northern Ireland. Mainly dry across the Midlands, south and southeast of England. Fairly cloudy, but some sunny spells trying to break through. Windy, gales in the north. Highs 14 to 18C.

Tuesday night
A mild southwesterly flow will maintain temperatures in double figures for most places overnight. A slow-moving front brings heavy rain to Scotland and Ireland, advancing into northwest England up to dawn on Wednesday. Staying windy, gales over hills and around coasts in the west. Cloudy for central and southern areas, hill fog in the west of England and Wales. Some breaks in the cloud toward the east. Lows 10 to 14C, perhaps slightly cooler in northwest Scotland.

Wednesday
A very wet day for Cumbria, constant heavy falls of rain where flooding is likely to develop. Rain in Wales becomes heavier from the north. Mainly dry for the Midlands, south and southeast again. Fairly cloudy, some brighter skies in the east. Windy for much of England & Wales, gales over hills and near coasts in the west. Less windy further north. Showers for western Scotland and Ireland. Early rain for southern Scotland tends to fade. Very mild again, highs 14 to 18C.

Thursday
Heavy rain affects Wales, northwest England and perhaps the southwest too. A threat of flooding in these areas with some torrential rain over the hills. Drier toward the east and southeast of England. Also mainly dry with a few showers for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Strong southwesterly winds for England & Wales, gales for exposed coasts and hills. Very mild in the south and east, up to 18C, cooler toward the north, nearer 10C in Scotland.
