Tuesday
Plenty of cloud around this morning as moist air from the Atlantic affects all parts of the UK and Ireland. There may be a few breaks in the cloud across eastern England this afternoon, but overall it stays cloudy. That cloud will be low in the west and north, shrouding the hills of western Wales, southern, southwest and northwest England as well as western Scotland and western Ireland. More persistent rain may trouble northern Scotland. Gusty winds over eastern parts of England and Scotland. Highs at a mild 8 to 11C.

Tuesday Night
A breezy and mild night for all. There will be further low cloud and some spots of drizzle over western and southern coasts. The rain turns heavier in Ireland and western Scotland with gales here. The rain eventually crosses all of Scotland and Ireland, reaching western parts of the Uk by the morning. Snow over the high ground of Scotland by the end of the night. Lows at 3 to 9C.

Wednesday
Low pressure east of the UK turns the winds to the northwest. A cold front will be passing through England and Wales in the morning taking some showery bursts of rain with it. Breezy too. A drier spell of weather then follows from the west ahead of showers later. More persistent showers will push south through Scotland on troughs which will be introducing ever colder air. The showers faling as snow over high ground in Scotland and Northern Ireland at first, but then to lower levels during the day. Highs at 11C in the south east, but becoming more widely 5 to 7C.

Thursday
A chilly start as a ridge of high pressure builds into the UK and Ireland. There may still be some wintry showers affecting eastern Scotland and eastern coasts of England but generally it should be dry and bright with some good spells of sunshine. Cloud increasing in Ireland in the morning and then western parts of the UK in the afternoon. Some drizzle drifting onto the coasts. Highs at 2C in northern Scotland, 7C in southwest England and western Ireland.
